Thank you for considering MCE Printing, LLC for your printing needs! To ensure a smooth and efficient process, we’ve outlined our submission guidelines and criteria below. Please review these requirements carefully before sending your files to us. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team for assistance.
File Format:
(Gold Standard)
InDesign File with all elements available. This includes linked images, fonts, and any supporting assets. Ensure the file is packaged correctly to avoid missing elements. See our How to Package an InDesign File page.
Finalized Print-Ready PDF with 0.125″ bleed at a minimum. This should be pre-flattened and optimized for high-resolution printing.
(Silver Standard)
Print-Ready PDF Files that meet minimum submission standards. Ensure all fonts are embedded, images are 300 DPI, and the file includes the required bleed. Setup fees may apply if corrections are needed.
(Bronze Standard)
Non-standard formats such as Word documents, PowerPoint files, or image files (JPEG, PNG, etc.). These formats may require additional setup and design fees for conversion into print-ready formats. Please note that image files must be high resolution to ensure acceptable print quality.
Resolution: Preferred 300 DPI, but we can print up to 1200 DPI for ultra-high-quality results (available only for specific projects).
Color Mode: Use CMYK color mode for accurate color reproduction. RGB files may result in unexpected color shifts during printing.
Bleed: Include a minimum bleed of 0.125″ on all sides of your design. Bleed is extra space added to the edges of a design to make sure it prints correctly, even if the printer trims a little off. You make the design a bit bigger than the final size so there’s no white border where the cut happens. For example, if your flyer is 5″ x 7″, you might design it as 5.25″ x 7.25″ with 0.125″ of bleed on all sides. Anything important (like text) stays away from the edges.
Safe Zone: Keep all important text and design elements at least 0.125″ inside the trim line.
Page Layout: Ensure that your file is correctly sized to your desired trim dimensions (e.g., 8.5” x 11” for a standard letter size).
Fonts: Convert text to outlines or embed fonts to avoid compatibility issues.
Images: Use high-quality images with a resolution of at least 300 DPI. Avoid using low-resolution images to prevent pixelation.
Borders: If your design includes borders, make them at least 0.25” wide to avoid trimming errors.
Once your file is submitted, we’ll send a digital proof for your approval.
Please review the proof carefully and confirm that all details are correct. No changes can be made after final approval.
While many projects quality for free physical proofs, there are some restrictions based on quantity or scale of project. Contact us for details.
If your project includes specialty finishes such as embossing, foil stamping, spot UV, or die-cutting, ensure that:
A separate layer in your file clearly indicates the placement of these finishes.
Layers are labeled appropriately (e.g., “Spot UV” or “Foil Stamping”).
Include vector files where possible for precision.
