What is the recommended size for a Light Novel?
The US market typically prints light novels as digest size (5.5" x 8.5"), but we can do any size you prefer. The industry standard size for Japanese light novels is A6 (4.13 x 5.83 inches) or B6 (5.04 x 7.17 inches). We can print at all of these specifications, allowing your readers to experience the book exactly as intended.
Can I include color inserts in my light novel?
Yes! We are one of the only printers in North America that fully supports mixed media printing, including traditional Kuchi-e (口絵) color inserts. Instead of charging you full color pricing for the entire book, we will build a custom quote with separate pricing for your full-color inserts and your black & white text pages.
What paper should I use for a light novel?
For maximum readability and authenticity, we suggest using our 60lb or 80lb uncoated text stocks. These provide the perfect balance of opacity and thickness without making the final book too heavy, which is essential for text-heavy novels.
How do I ensure my cover fits properly?
Cover design can be tricky for thick books. We recommend building the spine after you build the final page count in the builder tool, as our system will calculate the exact spine width needed.
