The most authentic sizes for Japanese light novels are Bunkobon (A6, 4.13" x 5.83") or Tankobon (B6, 5.04" x 7.17"). We offer both of these standard sizes, as well as custom sizing if you prefer a standard US Trade Paperback dimension instead.
Unlike the black and white text body, full-color inserts should be exported in CMYK color mode at a minimum of 300 DPI. If your illustrations extend to the edge of the page, you must set up your canvas to be exactly 0.25" larger than the final trim size to provide an equal 0.125" bleed margin on all four sides.
For maximum readability without eye strain, an uncoated 60lb to 80lb white text paper is highly recommended. It prevents harsh lighting glare and provides the classic, flexible feel of an authentic Japanese light novel.
