Finalizing Your Production Run
You've designed your book, built it in our tools, and approved the proof. Now it's time to turn that digital file into a pallet of books.
1. The Place Order Modal
When you click "Add to Order" from the proof page, you'll be presented with a final review screen.
- Quantity & Pricing: You will see your unit price. We show the price breaks for the next tiers (e.g., +50, +100). Often, bumping your order from 85 to 100 lowers the unit cost per unit significantly.
- Promo Codes: Note that promo codes are applied at the next step (Checkout), not when adding a project to your cart.
2. Checkout & Shipping
Our checkout is integrated with Easypost to find the best rates across UPS, FedEx, and USPS.
- Weight Calculation: Shipping is expensive for books because paper is heavy. A box of 50 graphic novels can weigh 40lbs. We calculate the exact weight based on your paper GSM, page count, glue, and even ink or toner.
- Shipping Options: You will see a full list of options available, ranging from Ground to Next Day Air. Keep in mind that these shipping times are based on when printing is completed, not when you place the order.
- Free Local Pickup: If you are in the Greater Seattle area, select "Local Pickup" to avoid shipping fees. You can pick up your order from our warehouse in Kirkland, WA, M-F 11am-5pm (Although please schedule your pick-up time). This could you hundreds of dollars on freight!
3. Payment & Turnaround
We accept all major credit cards securely via Stripe. Production time (Turnaround) is estimated on the product page based on quantity, but we typically start ASAP.
