At MCE Printing, we believe in keeping our environmental practices honest, practical, and effective. Our standard paper stocks are FSC® MIX CREDIT certified and Acid-Free, with 10% Post-Consumer Waste (PCW) mixes across different paper types to balance archival durability with recycled content. In addition, we put any and all paper scraps, trimmings, and setup sheets directly into recycling so nothing goes to waste.

For packaging, we use water-activated paper tape, which bonds directly to our corrugated shipping boxes and allows the entire carton to be recycled curbside as a single piece. We’ve spent years figuring out the best box sizes to keep on hand so orders fit snugly. When interior cushioning is needed to protect book corners and edges during transit, our primary padding is a 15% post-consumer recycled LDPE closed-cell foam. We also use air pillows when appropriate, keeping overall void fill to a minimum.

We aim for a practical balance with our packaging. Using proper protection is important because if an order is damaged in transit, having to reprint an entire run doubles the paper, ink, electricity, and shipping footprint. Our goal is to make sure your prints arrive in good condition the first time, using right-sized boxes and thoughtful protection to eliminate unnecessary waste.
